Phoenix Investors acquires Huron Campus in Endicott
ENDICOTT (WBNG) – A subsidiary of Phoenix Investors (“Phoenix”) announced Friday the acquisition of Huron Campus in Endicott.
The former IBM campus occupies approximately four million square feet in Endicott. Phoenix says the Huron campus serves as a “valuable hub for the various markets in the region.” The campus is close to Binghamton University and SUNY Broome Community College, and offers convenient access to the Erie Canal, New York, Buffalo, Rochester, Scranton, Syracuse, and the Pennsylvania and Canada borders .
Phoenix said earlier this year that it had started working with the vendor to bring next-generation businesses and technology to campus. They say recent leases include Imperium3, a lithium-ion battery company, and Ubiquity Solar. They say the lithium-ion battery industry is expected to reach a market value of $ 93.1 billion by 2025. The solar industry is expected to reach a market value of $ 200 billion by 2026.
Endicott Mayor Linda Jackson praised the acquisition, saying “The village of Endicott had been industrial for over 100 years when Mr Johnson built the village around his shoe factory and its tanneries.
