What is the last Shreveport restaurant to close?
COVID-19 has taken its toll on our community and it’s no secret that we are still grappling with the aftermath of the lockdown. So many businesses that once thrived in Shreveport-Bossier were suddenly closing their doors and we all watched in horror.
I will say that seeing so many people in our community opting for local ownership and operation has made me so happy. Containment has taught many of us the importance of choosing to spend our money with people who reinvest in our community.
A Broadmoor favorite took to his Facebook page to make the announcement that no business owner wants to hear. However, there was a silver lining in the gloomy ad. Lilah’s Broadmoor Bunnery Facebook page says they will close their doors for good on Sunday, July 25. However, King Cake’s connection of trust assured us that they would still work seasonally for all of our occasions that require cake.
Lilah’s Broadmoor Bunnery wants to get rid of everything they can. Starting Tuesday, July 20, Lilah’s will be selling cinnamon buns and croissants for just a dollar.
“Dear community of Lilah,
Lilah’s Broadmoor Bunnery at 3950 Youree Dr. will close permanently on Sunday July 25. Lilah’s Bakery will continue to operate seasonally for all of your favorite holidays, including Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and of course Mardi Gras!
To help us out on a high note, all cinnamon breads and croissants will be $ 1 starting Tuesday, July 20. Come help us eat all those delicious buns!
We sincerely thank every customer who bought buns, coffee or sandwiches, picked up a royal cake, tagged us on social media, or just dropped by to say hello. You all make the tough days worth it!
Now: go ahead and take life by the buns!
